Imagine the thrill of sailing the wild seas a century ago as you step aboard Fragata ARA. Built in 1898 as a training vessel for the Argentine navy, the frigate could hold more than 300 crew in its heyday, during which it served on 37 training voyages. Since its retirement in 1939, the ship has been painstakingly restored, showcasing the lush interior that housed many of its officers over the years. Bring the kids along, and let them act out their pirate fantasies as they run around the ship's deck. The Old Sailor's Ballad: [...] The helmsman had the wheel held and the boat was moving, moving without a single breeze moving it. Every sailor in his post tried tightening the ends, and had no strength: We were a deceased, cadavian crew! [...] Stronger and more terrible kept rumbling underwater: reached the ship, divided the bay and, like lead, the ship disappeared under its waters [...] Stunned by terrifying noise that sky and sea shuddered, my body was afloat like the one who's been drowned for seven days [...] this soul of mine in the middle of the sea she felt very lonely: so alone that not even God himself seemed be among the waves. (Samuel Taylor Coleridge)
