Hiking Trail · Nature / Park
Take in the scenery during a hike on Skyline Trail, a 7 km (4.3 mi) round walking route in a national park. The trail's highlights include coastal views from atop a headland cliff, allowing you to see way off into the distance. You might spot moose and northern gannets, as well as minke whales, harbor seals, and dolphins just offshore. The main trail is appropriate for hikers of most skill levels, and includes a boardwalk with steps at the headland. For travelers who use our international travel planner, Pleasant Bay holidays become easier to arrange, with trips to the Skyline Trail and other attractions mapped out and timetabled.

  • I'm torn about the rating for this review. The steps down and the view at the end were beautiful but the trail to get there and back were extremely boring. So. it's really a 4 for the view at the...  more »

  • A quaint hike through the grasslands of cape Breton national park that takes you to an outstanding view of the sunset. There is also opportunity to see moose from the viewing platform on the way to the skyline trail! A must visit if you are in the vicinity. I would like to make a note that me and a friend had mistakenly wandered off the marked trail and to please be cautious and not make the same mistake as us. The plant life in the region is very fragile and the small paths on the side are for park rangers to help restore some of the plants that grow on the side. The picture I have over the cliff is fantastic but it is NOT somewhere where we should have been.
  • the view is outstanding at the end for the trail! is possible it can get busy at certain period of the day but that fine the lengh of the trail is around 2.4km to go and 2.4km to go back but there another option you can take the long way it around 8.0km or so to get in the park it cost 7.80$ each adults it take around 45min to go and 45min to go back at the car i would recommend you to bring a good pair of shoes and try to not go there when is too hot because there is not a lot of shade
