Skyline Trail, Jasper National Park

Hiking Trail · Hidden Gem · Nature / Park
Steep but rewarding, Skyline Trail is mostly used by hikers, nature lovers, and bird-watchers. The wide and paved section of the trail ends abruptly and is followed by a path that climbs continuously up a ridge through the woods. The trail is steepest just below the summit, so watch your step especially when coming down. The views from the topmost ridge--of verdant mountains and picturesque river valleys--are mesmerizing. Pack a windbreaker for the top. On your way back, stop for a dip in the hot springs, the entrance to which lies on the same roundabout as the trailhead.
