  • The stunning scale of Saint Joseph's Oratory is matched by its history and significance to the City of Montreal and the Catholic Church. While the myriad of escalators that whisk people up and down the many, many levels of architecture and topography of the site seem out of place, one might be thankful they replace what would be a copious, and possibly access restricting, amount of steep stairs. While the entire experience was enjoyable, I felt most moved in the Crypt and Votive (Candle) Chapel portion of the Observatory. The warmth and aroma of the burning candles embraced my senses and left me a little emotional. Definitely recommend a trip here, not only for devout Christians but, for anyone who can appreciate the period architecture and energy provided.
  • Must see attraction in Montreal. It's really cool about the history of this great city. I keep going here many times. Theres shuttles which take you to the top or you can climb the stairs. The chapel inside is beautiful and the view outside is great. Winter or summer this place is great for a few hours or a full day. Must visit
