It's a steep climb up Breakneck Steps (L'Escalier Casse-Cou), the oldest stairway in the capital city. You'll find the stairs located in the borough of La Cité-Limoilou, near Place Royale. The area serves as one of the oldest commercial districts in North America. The stairs were built in 1635, but the "Breakneck Stairs" name was a modern adoption due to their steep incline. The top of the stairs features a stretching view of the street below and highlights the area's old architecture. • Make sure you take some photos looking down into the lower town. Very picturesque spot. Can be slippery with snow/freezing rain on the stairs - be careful! Neat little leather store off the side.

  • Obviously you have to and you will go to this part of Old Quebec. Really not that many steps to go up and down, tons of restaurants, bars, souvenir shops, and of course, tourists in that area. Not...

  • If you are in Old Quebec and don’t visit here that would be a shame, especially in the winter where they turn the streets into a winter wonder fest. Proper shoes are a must when snow is on the ground. Plenty of views to take in.
  • A lot of tourist but it’s really cute with all the little shop and restaurants
