  • The city's fortifications are impressive. Dominated by the Cital, the river defenses were about as good as they get. Still an active military base, you will need one of the guides to go through it. If...  more »

  • Much history here. There are about three walls to see at different streets. You can find a small kiosk like hut where there is a person who can share pamphlets with you about what you are seeing. I sa...  more »

  • Such a rich history! The tours are great and good value for money. Guides are knowledgeable and very personable. You learn a lot about what is not written in history books and some of the lies told in history books.
  • Nice place to wander around - if you have a chance, do the tours! They're operated by Parks Canada and they're a fantastic way to get to know the history of the city (and go to some restricted areas too!)
  • We walked down Rue Saint-Jean from where we were staying and came to the fortifications and the Porte Saint-Jean, our entry into Old Quebec. You can still walk for about four miles along these walls, but just seeing them at Saint-Jean gives you a sense of the history and majesty of these walls. Stunning stonework. Quebec is one of the only remaining walled cities located in North America.
  • Worth checking out if you time from other attractions.
  • Incredible must see replica of Old Quebec from 1806. Easy to understand their building stages and parts. Super recommended.
