  • My wife and I stopped here during a rainy day in Quebec City. I had low expectations, but it was something dry to do. I was very pleasantly suprised. It was interesting and well presented. A fun after...  more »
  • To call this a museum of social history might seem little boring - let's say it is a wonderful repository of artefacts telling the story of Quebec's people and their history. It's set in the old lower...  more »

  • If you like art, this is a great place to visit in Montreal. Lots of paintings and masterpieces of Salvador Dali, Monet etc. You can even touch some of this art and feel the time of the epoque when it was made. The place has to be quiet, don’t talk too loud and respect other visitors. A gallery of modern art, just blown my mind
  • It's a nice facility. Not too expensive to get in. If visiting, I would start upstairs in the section about the native population. I got to this after wandering through everything else, so we didn't have much time to really meander about. There is some interesting info about the settlement of Canada and Quebec. The politics area was kind of uninteresting to me, but I guess it has to be in there. All in All, it's just ok
  • This is actually a great musuem. Very accessible, the exhibitions are so well-done in that they are very easy to look at, to interact with. It's very close to the old city and the port which is great for visits. The currenr exhibition on missing and murdered native women is also very powerful. The building itself is spacious and welcoming which makes the visit even better! I would highly recommend this place.
  • Big place great to hang out and explore. Nice displays and lots of interesting pieces. Some exhibits felt oddly big and had room for further development. Thanks!
  • One of the BEST museums dedicated to preserving the cultural heritage of it's people (Quebecois). Enjoyed viewing artifacts and reading about their place/purpose in the history of Quebec. Added bonus on the day we visited, listening to the local band "British Ovation" playing pop rock influenced by Anglophones and Francophones. Also enjoyed eating lunch prepared by Café 47 (the most beautiful inner courtyard of the city. The Museum's restaurant will charm you with its menu focused on local produce and its urban counter flair). Last piece of info, did you know residents of Quebec have free access to the Museum's exhibits on the first Sunday of each month, upon presentation of proof of residency. A "must see" when visiting old Quebec City.
