Located 200 m (656 ft) under ground, this church was carved out of rock inside a salt mine used for over a millennium. • Beautiful and unique cathedral, awe inspiring size! It is not expensive ($21 CAD), and the basic passport includes entry, audio guide in English, a movie and a virtual reality experience. They call it the first wonder of Colombia, for good reason! Bathrooms are free and inexpensive food is available for purchase inside. My friend and I had lunch for $4 :)
  • The trip was very simple. I didn't pay for the tour, but it was cool they had a electronic interpreter for english speakers. I paid for my tickets through Google. Although I think I paid more for my Colombian friends it was a lot simpler. As for the trip it was amazing, very gorgeous, not cold except for a few drafts of wind that I was not able to pinpoint. You don't have to be a Catholic to appreciate the time and effort it took to carve out this Cathedral. But if you are there was a mass while I was there. "Yes" the church is still being used. I'll let the photos speak for themselves. My favorite is called the Dome. Its suppose to represent the gateway to heaven. Second was just the view of the city below. And the cultural artifacts. And many more 😊😊
