Catedral de Sal de Zipaquira Reviews
Just as I stated above, these caves and tunnels are simply amazing on their own, but add in the lighting, and this attraction becomes so much more than tunnels, it becomes a work of art and a labor... more »
This is a place not to be missed while in Columbia. It can get crowded and involves walking on uneven ground but its well worth it. Just the sheer fact, how it has been built inside an active salt... more »
An absolute wonder. Very rarely do you get to see what a deep mine looks like, let alone one that has been converted into a church. Well worth the day trip from Bogota. The main hall is incredible and the size of the chambers are amazing. Also there is a free English walking tour which we recommend as they tell you all about it. Like anywhere the shops are tacky but watching the movie they have inside that is free and understanding that you are in only one small part makes it even more amazing. One of the best things we did in Colombia.
At the entrance, you will receive an electronic tour guide which will lead you on your way down and help you. The final room with the main cross is quite impressive. The antique shop at the top is very cool and has fun items. Carved in a salt mine, this unique subterranean cathedral offers guided tours & a souvenir shop.
