Latran houses, Cesky Krumlov

#4 of 37 in Historic Sites in Cesky Krumlov
Historic Site · Hidden Gem · Tourist Spot
Roam the quaint streets of Latran houses and discover the secret nooks of the Cesky Krumlov's magical Renaissance district. Originally built outside the old city center below the castle, the district was once home to the castle servants. Wilhelm of Rosenberg linked the servant quarter to the inner town in 1555. Today, it stretches from wooden Barber Bridge to Budejovicka Gate. Admire the murals depicting the Rosenberg Rider under the house numbers 53 and 39. Look for the former St. Jodock's Church that catered to the poor and ill back in the 14th century. Other highlights include the Cylindrical Bastion and Monastery of the Order of the Knights of the Cross with a Red Star. A visit to Latran houses represents just the start of the adventure when you use our Cesky Krumlov day trip planner to plot your vacation.

  • Houses are nicely kept and very individual.
  • Main street in Cesky Krumlov, lined up with quaint houses that are now gift shops, nice to walk around but touristy, nicer if you wander into the back alleys and be surprised by stunning views if the castle and the river.
