Prague's finest example of Gothic architecture, St. Vitus Cathedral is the resting place of many saints, kings, princes, and archbishops. Located within the city's World Heritage-listed castle complex, the cathedral notably contains 14th-century mosaics and stained glass by artist Alfons Mucha. The biggest and most ornate of the cathedral's many side chapels features medieval frescoes depicting scenes from the life of Christ, as well as a hidden staircase leading to a chamber housing priceless Bohemian crown jewels. You may not be able to see the real jewels, which are famously protected by seven locks, but you can reward yourself with panoramic views of the city from the cathedral's south tower. St. Vitus Cathedral Reviews
This huge cathedral took hundreds of years to complete. It is usually included in all guided tours of the city so I would recommend that you arrange a city tour and make the most of your time in... more »
Amazing building. Great deal as part of Prague Castle B package. We loved it and worth the visit for sure more »
The most beautiful church I have ever seen! I am not religious, but this building was truly awe inspiring! The stained glass is wonderful. It is free to enter the first section (a good idea if you're short on time), but you require a ticket to see further into the building which is definitely worth it. Make sure to be respectful and buy a 50CZ photography pass if you'd like to take photos inside, and please turn off your flash too. Go early to avoid the crowds of tour groups.
Absolutely stunning Cathedral where the details from each angle are astounding. The walk up here is a long one but worth it because the cathedral is only part of the incredible castle area. You can explore here all day, eat at the many places to have breaks and buy some awesome souvenirs too.
