Walk around the main square of Historic Centre of Telc, which is encircled by Renaissance and Baroque houses with high gables, arcades, and surface decorations unique to each building. Within the square, you'll see a column of the virgin and an 18th-century fountain. This central area was made a World Heritage Site in 1992, thanks to the 17th-century chateau with an English-style park and its main square. Lord Zachariáš of Hradec rebuilt most of the center, which was devastated by a 1530 fire, based on a uniform plan, and he turned the stone castle into a residential chateau. Three large fish ponds border the area, creating a nice spot for hiking along the shore or renting a boat.
