The largest body of water in El Salvador, Lago Suchitlán presents visitors with a rich display of bird and fish life. The lake was created artificially in 1976, after the power generating damn Cerron Grande was built. Take a boat ride around the lake and head toward an island in the middle as you sail over the calm water. The island houses hundreds of nesting birds who fly about during the day.   • when you see it, it is hard to imagine that underneath there is a village with housing and farmland that were very fertile. cost a lot of blood his expropriation to the peasants.
