Berlin TV Tower, Berlin

#19 of 1,298 in Things to do in Berlin
Get a bird's-eye view of Berlin from the top of Berlin TV Tower, the highest point in the city. A symbol of Berlin since it was erected in the 1960s, this is the tallest structure in Germany. The tower is 368 m (1,207 ft) tall, with an observation deck 204 m (670 ft) above ground. Try to time your visit for a sunny day, as thick fog can obscure the view from the top on overcast days. You can wait for the morning mist to clear at the tower's rotating restaurant, which spins 360 degrees in just under 30 minutes. The tower welcomes nearly 1.5 million tourists each year, so be prepared for a long wait at the entrance. You can avoid standing in line by booking a fixed date and time of your visit on the tower's website. • It's something that you MUST do if you are going to Berlin. The food is not that good but the experience is unforgettable! In one hour more or less it's the time for the dinner, even though you can st...  more »
  • For the television tower you must take time if you are in Berlin. You can organize the ticket online. And with comes in, if it has it on phone. Also a top can reserve a table to himself. Even without a table reservation is a small bar, which offers what at decent prices. Enjoy views and at least have a drink, if it is above.

  • Lovely East German socialist Charme in more than 200m height. I recommend to book in the internet a ticket to avoid waiting in the line. There’s a bar on top where you get a small beer for around 3,50...  more »

  • I've just had to pay €3.20 for 250ml of still water. That is an absolutely disgusting ripoff. Last time I checked still tap water is free and telling this to the bartender I received a filthy look and a tone that suggested I was stupid and uneducated. Don't waste your money coming here.
  • Aaa
  • If you want the looks, ok.... go..... but get your drink somewhere else..... expensive and low-average drinks....
  • You heave some STUPID employers at your tower. Today i asked if i can take pictures from the tower using a TRIPOD, the cashier said YES. Now i want to get in the tower and the security man doesn't let me in with my tripod. Ho pays my bus ticket now? WORST THAN POOR
  • A drink with a view to make you dizzy :)

Where to stay in Berlin

The Kreuzberg neighborhood near the Oberbaumbrüke bridge is central and full of Berlin icons: street art, a piece of the Berlin Wall, the East Side Gallery, and a proliferation of cafes. Friedrichshain is another option with a hip vibe due to the students who congregate at its cafes and galleries. Consider Mitte as a historic home base. Mitte is the area where almost all of Berlin's well-known buildings are located, and it is within walking distance of Alexanderplatz. For a peaceful residential area, try Charlottenburg-Wilmersdorf where the streets are lined with boutiques and quiet coffee shops.
