Charlottenburg Palace (Schloss Charlottenburg), Berlin

4.1
Discover fine Baroque and Rococo architecture at Charlottenburg Palace (Schloss Charlottenburg), the largest palace in Berlin. One of the city's most iconic landmarks, the 17th-century palace sits on an estate framed by large formal gardens, a belvedere, and mausoleum. Tour the palace's royal apartments to view an extensive collection of 18th-century French paintings and fine porcelain. Outside, you can wander through the Baroque-style landscaped courtyards. You may only take photographs inside the palace if you purchase of a permit at the entrance. Ask Inspirock to suggest an itinerary and make planning a trip to Berlin fast, fun, and easy.

  • Beautiful palace and a must see in Berlin. The winter market in December is also very nice. Free audio guide enhances the experience. I did not visit the new wing but the old palace is breathtaking.
  • Great place with amazing history! Worth the visit & the audio guide is packed with fun information and stories that i found very interesting! And each room in the castle gives a different vibe! If you take your time it may take up to 2 hours to cover the whole palace! ⭐️🏛
  • The castle is definitely worth a visit. The paintings in the ceilings, the furniture deriving from other destroyed castles, and the porcelain collection of the Prussian queen make the visit really enjoyable. There is a discount for students, free audio-guide and free garderobe. Pictures are not allowed except if you pay a fee of 3 € at the entrance.
  • Beautiful palace and park... The views are much beautiful. I recommend for photographer for many idea to get for photography.
  • Nice reconstruction of a palace destroyed by Second World War. Some rooms are really outstanding. The gardens are beautiful. In Christmas there is a Christmas market at the entrance of the Palace. Information provided is also interesting.

Where to stay in Berlin

The Kreuzberg neighborhood near the Oberbaumbrüke bridge is central and full of Berlin icons: street art, a piece of the Berlin Wall, the East Side Gallery, and a proliferation of cafes. Friedrichshain is another option with a hip vibe due to the students who congregate at its cafes and galleries. Consider Mitte as a historic home base. Mitte is the area where almost all of Berlin's well-known buildings are located, and it is within walking distance of Alexanderplatz. For a peaceful residential area, try Charlottenburg-Wilmersdorf where the streets are lined with boutiques and quiet coffee shops.
