German Museum of Technology reviews
This museum is huge, there are airplanes, ships, trains (locomotives and carts), automobiles, I was quite impressed with the size and variety of displays, very high quality museum, must see. more »
My dad showed me what was his master piece on a steam train, we attended a welding workshop, a special expo on space travel was going on and silver ware for sugar ... and ... so much to see (and... more »
I bet it's great for German kids, however, being a tourist I didn't really enjoy it despite spending a good half of the day there. If you enjoy trains, sure, there are a lot of them, you can look inside most of them but it's not very interactive (there are scheduled demonstrations sometimes however). Absolute bulk of the information is in German, not many things you can interact with and we got there at a time when half of the new building was under maintenance. Almost all the interactive exhibits in Photo and Video industry were out of order. The most memorable part for us was the Sugar exhibition.
Beautiful and bigger than expected, unfortunately a lot of expositions where under construction and the brewery wasn't open for public. The view on the balcony was priceless and you can get a 2 for 1 discount what makes the trip very cheap. Many different themes are exposed, but it is not always clear what the expose, but still nice to just look at the evolution of (German) life. The light (inside the building) made it difficult to take clear/nice pictures
