Rausch Schokoladenhaus, Berlin

#3 of 95 in Shopping in Berlin
One of Berlin's classic shopping destinations, Rausch Schokoladenhaus seduces chocoholics with its rows of handsomely packaged truffles and pralines. The store opened in 1999, after two major chocolate-making families joined to form one of the largest chocolatiers in the world. Take a behind-the-scenes tour of its modern manufacturing facility and admire the huge chocolate sculptures of some of Berlin's most recognizable landmarks. Though you cannot buy or taste these chocolate masterpieces, you can choose from over 200 varieties of pre-packaged chocolate goodies at the on-site factory outlet store. Finish your visit at the upstairs cafe, which serves traditional chocolate drinks and cakes, as well as savory dishes seasoned with cocoa. • Great store for chocolates, either to buy or to eat a chocolate bar. You don't know what to get. Everywhere chocolates. Very beautiful sweets and chocolate drink. It's definitely worth a visit for those who love chocolate.

  • As always a special treat, the fine chocolate and cake creations. I had to get some souvenirs of course and they were drapes professionally and fit into small boxes. An advantage was the winter chill, so we could enjoy three days later at home the wonderful creations. On demand, whether it uses pig gelatin, was explained to me that their creations are Muslim.

  • Nooks and crannies with delicious chocolate sculptures. The cocoa smell is intoxicating. This shop is a true Cathedral. On the upper floor there is a bar, with very nice staff and delicacies of losing his head. Is it really worth the visit.

  • We were directed to this place by our guide and it was fun to see. Clearly they want you to buy something but honestly I did not feel any pressure to do so. In fact, the guide only gave us a short time to take a quick look around. Some great chocolate sculptures. They also have chocolate samples (like small pellets) that gave you a good idea of the different kinds available. Free to go in and see it and a good place to get a souvenir for someone back home.
  • This is where you go if you want to do the Four Seasons / Ritz / Georges V version of chocolate. It is fancy. It is expensive. It is showy. They have the thing they do, fancy chocolate in fancy settings, and they do it well, and if you’re in the mood for super-duper-upscale-posh with fancy waiters upstairs and fancy truffles downstairs, go. But if you just want really damned good artisanal chocolate with a broader spectrum of well-curated character at a much lower price point and in a more relaxed setting, go to Docura in Kreuzberg.
  • Please eat at the cafe. It makes the experience even better. Buy a something small. Eat it. Sit there for a half hour. Repeat the process. So tasty.
  • Great chocolate creations and very wide selection. The restaurant upstairs is worth a visit too! Lovely gift ideas
  • Stopped by for dessert and they’re chocolate fondue was satisfying! They’re truffles were delicious as well. A good idea for gifting.
