Rausch Schokoladenhaus, Berlin

4.6
#3 of 97 in Shopping in Berlin
One of Berlin's classic shopping destinations, Rausch Schokoladenhaus seduces chocoholics with its rows of handsomely packaged truffles and pralines. The store opened in 1999, after two major chocolate-making families joined to form one of the largest chocolatiers in the world. Take a behind-the-scenes tour of its modern manufacturing facility and admire the huge chocolate sculptures of some of Berlin's most recognizable landmarks. Though you cannot buy or taste these chocolate masterpieces, you can choose from over 200 varieties of pre-packaged chocolate goodies at the on-site factory outlet store. Finish your visit at the upstairs cafe, which serves traditional chocolate drinks and cakes, as well as savory dishes seasoned with cocoa. • Delicious chocolate and not excessively expensive. There are a wide variety of products to choose and there are different shapes of chocolate inside! On the upper floor have a small cafe where you serve superbly. It was terrific, I would without a doubt!

  • The best cup of chocolate that I've taken in a long time. An extensive list of chocolates. Prepared in a thousand ways and presented in an exquisite way. It will be by serving us refuge from the intense cold in Berlin, but we still remember the cup of chocolate we took there. Apart from that, the ground floor shop is all a delight for the palate. A visit is worthwhile.

  • We were directed to this place by our guide and it was fun to see. Clearly they want you to buy something but honestly I did not feel any pressure to do so. In fact, the guide only gave us a short time to take a quick look around. Some great chocolate sculptures. They also have chocolate samples (like small pellets) that gave you a good idea of the different kinds available. Free to go in and see it and a good place to get a souvenir for someone back home.
  • A chocolate paradise! You'll find anything you wish to satisfy your sweet desires! Staff could be more friendly though.
  • Oh my, Rausch is worth heading to if you're nearby! The range of chocolate is superb. The chocolate statues look good enough to eat!
  • Still can't believe it is a delicous thing while they are so beautiful at te same time.
  • It is an amazing place if you are looking for high quality chocolate. When you come in, there are several chocolate structures as well as a chocolate volcano. There is a wide range of chococlate truffles. I was curious and I tasted a balsamic vinegar chocolate truffle that was surprisingly good. Very nice staff. Special thanks to Fadoua, the seller that took care of me.

Where to stay in Berlin

The Kreuzberg neighborhood near the Oberbaumbrüke bridge is central and full of Berlin icons: street art, a piece of the Berlin Wall, the East Side Gallery, and a proliferation of cafes. Friedrichshain is another option with a hip vibe due to the students who congregate at its cafes and galleries. Consider Mitte as a historic home base. Mitte is the area where almost all of Berlin's well-known buildings are located, and it is within walking distance of Alexanderplatz. For a peaceful residential area, try Charlottenburg-Wilmersdorf where the streets are lined with boutiques and quiet coffee shops.
