Hungarian National Museum reviews
Very dusty museum with few modern technologies to tell the story in an engaging way. The staff was not very helpful, had a non service minded attitude (rude is the right word) - it is hard to believe.... more »
This is amazing museum which covers the Hungarian history from Roman times to nowadays. One suggestion ... start on the second floor with Hungarian History I and II. We started from Panopticum (in... more »
The content is AMAZING. But the staff are all miserable. Could have done with some guidance on which ways to go around the place, I walked into a dead end.....while some old woman watched me do so, didn't even try and tell me nothing was that way. But alas, it has an excellent retelling of Hungarian history. Right back to caveman times. Very interesting indeed.
We came here in February, our third visit as we come here every time we visit Budapest, this time around we were over with loads of friends and family for our wedding and so came in as a large group. Everyone at Museum were so friendly and accommodating of our needs as we all needed to arrive at different times. The food here is always a highlight for me and my husband but every one of our guests were also raving about it! It's all very rich, traditional Hungarian food so a must if you want some authentic food. The restaurant itself is proper old school and beautiful, you feel like you are transported back in time. The service is also impeccable, very attentive. Upon leaving the restaurant this time round the manager gifted my husband and I a lovely bottle of wine to take home as a wedding gift, a very thoughtful touch and a lovely end to the night. Highly recommended for a special meal whilst in Budapest.
