Observe the ancient Buddhist monasteries carved into the rocks at Pandavleni Caves. Built gradually from the 1st century BCE through the 3rd century CE, the complex spreads across 24 caves, some connected by carved stone ladders. Highlights include the main prayer hall cave with its attractive stupa, and the well-preserved cave number ten. Full of inscriptions and sculptures, the complex also boasts an ancient system of water management--look for chiseled water tanks around the site. If you can, take the short, steep hike to the caves early in the morning to beat the sun, or later in the day. Bring along plenty of water, and sturdy shoes. A decent place having lots of trees and greenery. You have to climb the steps to get up to the caves. Caves are not too big but the view of Nasik city which you get from the top is mesmerizing. Located in the city itself and not too far. So one can easily get there just for relaxation in morning or evening as well. 😊
Nice place to visit. Awesome greenery. Caves are also in good condition. Great view of Nashik city from the above. But, too many stairs to climb. So not good for kids and senior persons. Parking space is available there but not well maintained. Overall a good place to hangout. More maintenance would make the place even better.
