Jameson Distillery Bow St., Dublin

Have some history with your Irish coffee at Jameson Distillery Bow St., which provides guided tours and tutored tastings of its best-selling whiskey. The distillery closed for business in 1971 and the building now houses a visitor center and bar, located right above the original fermentation vats, which you can still see through the glass floor of the atrium. Guided tours explain the history of Irish whiskey through a series of reconstructed scenes from the old distillery, as well as through several exhibit areas displaying all of the main stages of traditional whiskeymaking. If the tour's complimentary glass just doesn't hit the spot, drop by the second-floor restaurant, where you can take the next drink with a gourmet meal. Make Jameson Distillery Bow St. a centerpiece of your Dublin vacation itinerary, and find what else is worth visiting using our Dublin online vacation planner.

  • I am not much of a drinker and had never drank Jameson Whiskey before so had no idea what I was going to hear. The tour was very interesting our tour guide Niall was really informative and really funny. What I loved the most is his passion for the company. We also got to compare the different types of whiskey to Jameson. I would definitely recommend this visit to anyone and the glass of Jameson & ginger lime is perfect at the end. Can't wait to tuck into my Jameson whiskey chocolate truffles...
  • Jameson is one of my favorite whiskey’s due to its great taste and affordability. I was very disappointed the first time I visited in Ireland in 2009 that I didn’t get to visit this place, but I made sure the next two times I came I would visit and believe me we did! I really love how they have everything setup in the distillery. Even though Jameson no longer produces their product at Bow street there is so much history here! I really enjoyed doing the tour and the tasting experience, especially since we all were given certificates on being certified for Jameson. The best part is going through the process, smelling the different whiskeys in barrels, and then doing the comparison between other top Whiskeys in the world. There are other tours that I would love to do that they offer, but we were unable due to time constraints, but would do them next time for sure. I love their tasting room! It is really awesome. We usually will come back before heading to the hotel to get at least one more drink made to taste. Last time we were there it was our Baby Moon, so they actually made (for free) an awesome cocktail for my wife to drink. The bar tenders were so kind to all of us. Speaking of prices, the cocktails are not overly high and really reasonably. Each time we are there we also made sure do get some of the special Jameson bottles they have there as well as doing a cast strength pour! They make everything really fun. If you love Whiskey you need visit Jameson!
