Aqueduct Beach, Caesarea

#3 of 16 in Things to do in Caesarea
Dating back to the rule of Herod, Aqueduct Beach provides a glimpse into thousands of years of local history. Part of ancient city infrastructure, the aqueduct supplied water to Caesarea for over 1,000 years. Today, visitors can walk through part of the underground tunnel--dress appropriate for moist spaces, and expect water to reach all the day up to your knees. For travelers who use our international travel planner, Caesarea holidays become easier to arrange, with trips to the Aqueduct Beach and other attractions mapped out and timetabled.

  • We walked around the ampitheatre, aqueduct and ruins on the beach area of the Mediterranean Sea. So much history here where Herod had constructed many amazing works of architecture.  more »
  • other groups have added stones or repaired the Aqueduct and a guide will help you spot where the additions were made - very cool. GREAT place to get into the sea AND take some great photo memories...  more »
  • Marvel of engineering from the Romans. Nice quiet beach to enjoy some down time on the Mediterranean Sea in Caesarea. There is more to see in the area that I didn't get too but would be worth a look.
  • Physically beautiful beach and very quiet Only issues was there were no bathrooms or restaurants that we saw. There was a small food truck for a couple of hours. A nice quiet crowd
