Watching over the northern entrance of the ancient town of Jaffa, Clock Tower remains as a testament to the Ottoman period. Constructed as one of seven in Palestine to honor the silver jubilee of the reign of Sultan And al-Hamid II, the tower was completed in 1903. Approach the limestone landmark from across its busy thoroughfare, noting the commemorative plaque dedicated to the memory of Israelis killed in the First Arab-Israeli War. Nicely preserved clock tower. Meeting point for free walking tours. Starting point for your tour of Jaffa. Lots of shops nearby, lively area. Do not drive anywhere close to here as traffic piles up quick
