Pier / Boardwalk · Tourist Spot
Stroll along Old Tel Aviv Port Area, where the city folk come out to eat, drink, and play in close proximity to the ocean. Originally established in the 1930s to serve as the main commercial harbor for the city, the "namal" (port) never quite lived up to that expectation. Today, the redeveloped area features a long boardwalk, lined by Israeli and international clothing stores, cafes, and restaurants. At night, the city's young residents swarm the many nightclubs and bars in the area, sometimes spilling onto the beach and invading the sand. • Very nice place. Beautiful view of the sea and all kinds of shops nearby. Plus good restaurants and icecream. I really like this place.
  • The old Port has been transformed into a collection of shops, restaurants, farmers markets, and events halls. A good place for kids and grownups, alike. On a Friday it seems like the entire city is there. A nice place to stroll.
