Ojo de Agua, Isla de Ometepe

Cool off at Ojo de Agua, a natural spring. Dip into the clear, cool water, brought to the spring by an underground river that has been purified by the nearby volcano. The soft, mineralized water offers an inviting moment of respite from the heat of the area, and gets constantly renewed and replenished by the spring. Separated into two main pools, the springs have seen an upswing in popularity with locals and tourists alike, drawing significant crowds on weekends and holidays. Sit on one of the deck chairs and relax under the shade of the umbrellas, treating yourself to some fresh coconut from the onsite vendors. • Hi, friends! I recently visited the Central American countries. I am in awe of this journey. Guatemala, El Salvador and Nicaragua met me beautiful weather, bright sunshine and wonderful nature, its culture and its attractions. But for now, I'll tell you about the island of Ometepe, volcano with its charming, picturesque places and a very popular tourist attraction in this place "water Eye". Ojo de Agua is a swimming pool with mineral water, which comes from the depths of the volcano. Entrance costs about $2, in addition to water treatments, then you can offer and to eat and drink, and enjoy the local coconuts. Water has a sun loungers and chairs where you can sit and relax from the sultry heat. Birds singing, and the surrounding greenery of relax and let you relax, improve your health and get a lot of fun.

  • Very beautiful and clear water. Perfect to relax, bath and calm down. You can buy alcoholic drinks such as coconuts. Just the prices for entrance and drinks is high. Before the conflicts of president Ortega and the civil population it was very touristic.
  • Clean and well maintained, though it was incredibly crowded while we were there. The water temperature is nice, and there are rope swings and slack lines for the more adventurous. Food and drinks available on site.
  • Definitely go there! Entry is c$ 154 for foreigners ($5). Refreshing turquoise water. Good for swimming. There’s even a Tarzan swing if you dare. You can order food and drinks to your pool chair. A bit pricey but quite good and convenient. It’s a good place to escape a hot day.
  • Cool place to relax in after a long day of traveling. The water temperature is excellent and the place itself is very clean and organized. They also have food and drinks that are very reasonably priced and are pretty good.
  • After hiking the volcano, this is the best possible thing to do. Amazingly clean, warm water... Really good food and drinks and surprisingly cheap considering it's a totally captive clientele.
