Ojo de Agua, Isla de Ometepe

Cool off at Ojo de Agua, a natural spring. Dip into the clear, cool water, brought to the spring by an underground river that has been purified by the nearby volcano. The soft, mineralized water offers an inviting moment of respite from the heat of the area, and gets constantly renewed and replenished by the spring. Separated into two main pools, the springs have seen an upswing in popularity with locals and tourists alike, drawing significant crowds on weekends and holidays. Sit on one of the deck chairs and relax under the shade of the umbrellas, treating yourself to some fresh coconut from the onsite vendors. • Very beautiful and clear water. Perfect to relax, bath and calm down. You can buy alcoholic drinks such as coconuts. Just the prices for entrance and drinks is high. Before the conflicts of president Ortega and the civil population it was very touristic.
  • Clean and well maintained, though it was incredibly crowded while we were there. The water temperature is nice, and there are rope swings and slack lines for the more adventurous. Food and drinks available on site.
