  • Well worth the short but very steep climb from the parking area below. The views are worth the effort and the statue itself is quite beautiful. The whole experience can be done in 30 minutes and is a ...  more »
  • From the Bay, it seems a tiny sculpture atop one of the highest hills of San Juan de el Sur, get there does not take long, but that depends on the Sun, heat, and physical condition. If you accept the challenge it is best to walk, now if you don't believe to hold and you want to enjoy the viewpoint from beginning to end, you can take a taxi. To reach the mirador you can walk along the beach, enjoying the Bay, across the river that goes beyond just on the beach, near the end of it you can leave already on the street where you will find just the signs that guide you toward the Christ's mercy. Then they begin the curves and slopes of this road, which even though it is a little hard, gives us breathtaking views of the Bay, although not as impressive as those that await us from the viewpoint. Arriving at the entrance, it is necessary to pay the $2.00 entrance, that are totally worth. After slopes and steep curves, you can enjoy the most breathtaking views of San Juan de el Sur, not only the Bay, if not from another angle Nacascolo Beach, as well as the plasyas that border the San Juan Mountains. You can not miss the selfie, and if you're feeling more spiritual, just at the feet of Christ, in the back before climbing the steps to the top of the mirador, there is a small chapel which, with luck, you'll find open. The descent is much easier, nothing like enjoying a sunset at the lookout then return walking on the beach.

  • After a quick taxi ride, you climb up about 4 flights of stairs to breathtaking views all the way around. There is a $2US “entrance” that you lay halfway up the stairs.  more »

  • Incredible view from the top. They have a mini church underneath the statute with history of all other statues around the world. You can walk, drive or even ATV up to the top. I recommend atv. They say it's $1 to get in as a local or $2 as a foreign, but just grab a local and say they are your guide to get in for free
  • $2 entrance fee for an awesome view of all San Juan and nearby beaches. You can drive to a very close parking and walk up. Below the statue there is a mini-chapel. Totally worth seeing.
  • Great views, it's a decent hike about 20-30 minutes of uphill once you are off the beach. $2 entrance fees for foreign tourist. It is very windy so hold onto yours hats!
  • This is a pleasant climb and a refreshing change from the beaches and bars if you're in town for more than a day. Even though it's on a road, there's not much traffic. Extremely efficient half hour uphill, followed by stunning views and profile-worthy photo ops.
  • Great view!! You can drive almost to the top, then there are maybe 50 steps up to the actual statue area. Steps are uneven, definitely not accessible for the mobility-challenged, but if you can, the view is worth the climb!
