All aboard Cruiser Aurora, a training ship that played a central role in the beginning of the Great October Socialist Revolution. The ship first launched in 1900 and joined the Russian Navy in 1903. The ship-turned-museum played an active part in the Russo-Japanese war, World War I, and World War II, but it is remembered best for stymieing international intervention during the Soviet uprising of 1917. Climb on board to see what life was like for the sailors working on the ship. The exhibit provides additional information on the battles that the cruiser took part in, its history, and the people who sailed the ship. Saint Petersburg is a City full of very interesting things to see. One of the must see attractions is the Aurora battle cruiser which played an important role in the first world war and the October Revolution in 1917. The ship is now a museum. Most of the deck is accessible for visitors and in the below deck are the main museum exhibits. Definitely worth a visit!
Aurora (Russian: Авро́ра) is a 1900 Russian protected cruiser, currently preserved as a museum ship in Saint Petersburg. Aurora was active during the Russo-Japanese War in 1905. Aurora survived the Battle of Tsushima.
