Black Stone, Mecca

A cornerstone on a sacred mosque, Black Stone holds the status of one of the most revered Islamic relics. Shrouded in mystery, the stone was possibly set into the side of the mosque in 605 BCE by the prophet Muhammad, appearing frequently in Islamic iconography and texts over the following centuries.
