Museo Del Romanticismo dedicates its collections to artwork largely from the 19th century and features a huge array of pieces, including furniture and paintings, especially portraits of notables, such as Queen Isabel II. The museum is privately owned, so its atmosphere is cozy and quirky. Most of the displays have explanations, but consider hiring a guide if you’d like additional information. Finish your visit with a cup of tea from the cafe in the garden. Using our custom trip planner, Madrid attractions like Museo Del Romanticismo can form part of a personalized travel itinerary.

It's spectacular. I recommend visiting it accompanied by someone from History to tell the details of the Museum or sign up for guided tours. It's the best way not to lose detail.

Nice little museum if about 20+ small rooms. They give you a small guidebook in your language to borrow as you go round. You have to put any bags in a locker before you go in. I went mid-afternoon on a Wednesday and I was practically the only person there.
What a gem! Such a surprise this little museum is now one of my absolute favorites in Madrid. Be sure to explore the streets around the museum for great little restaurants, bars and shops.
