Sobrino de Botin, founded in 1725, holds the Guinness Record for world’s oldest restaurant. It boasts quite a pedigree: Francisco de Goya worked here as a waiter and it’s mentioned in an Ernest Hemingway novel.   • An amazing one of a kind experience! Soak it all in! You are in the Oldest restaurant on the planet! Guiness Book of World records vouches for this! Number 3 on the Forbes best international restaurants! Pretty amazing! We were greeted by so many staff, seated promptly and met by our waiter quickly! Great service, wonderful food and ambiance! People from all around the world come to experience this beautiful piece of history! My Dad and I had soup, salad and the sirloin and potatoes, half carafe of Sangria and one dessert, one coffee for 93 Euros! Under 100 Euros for a once in a lifetime experience!
  • Fun to say we went to the "world's oldest restaurant" and the staff was very nice. Food was just okay though. I might go back and try something else if I ever make it back to Madrid again... But it would be more for the ambiance than the meal itself. Also, some local college students in festive attire provide a quarter of lively music in the dining room at night, which was a nice treat.
