On a visit to El Faro de Maspalomas, look out to the sea and imagine how this historic lighthouse would have safely guided ships from Africa and the Americas. Built in 1890, the 68-m (223-ft) tall structure is an icon of the Maspalomas area, and the perfect place to set off on a walk into the famous sand dunes. El Faro de Maspalomas Reviews
This recently modernised ethnographic museum offers a free exhibit featuring insight into early Gran Canaria life. It’s small and takes about 15 minutes to see it all. The walk up the original spiral ... more »

What I give that 1 star, this is three times better. But still only 3 stars because it is boring. However, luxury shops, but still feel very touristy and artificial (read: not authentic).
Very nice area to visit as a tourist. Interesting history & some great pictures to be taken. Well worth a visit here & the more up market area surrounding the lighthouse.
I've been to the Lighthouse as I was strolling along the Maspalomas beach and it's a good place to snap some photos. It's a small pier and it can get crowded easily, but all in all not much to see from here. If you are in the area you can definitely pass by and get a photo with this landmark, but it's nothing too special. However, there are plenty of other spots which, if bundled together, make for a good day out. All in all there's not much you can say about a lighthouse, but you can get nice food and views all around.
