Acueduct of Segovia, Segovia

Admire original Roman architecture at Acueduct of Segovia, which is widely considered one of the most significant and best-preserved ancient monuments left in Spain. Marvel at the 166 stone arches of age-old engineering that transported water into the city for over 18 centuries. You can walk the entire 17 km (11 mi) of the aqueduct or just visit the portion that towers over the center of the city. Stop and have a coffee in Azoguejo Square, where the full splendor of this monument is visible. • The aqueduct of Segovia is beautiful from afar when entering Segovia from Valladolid, up close and from above. It is very well preserved and hallucinatory to see it so high and so long. It is essential to view from above, from the side with a view that you can not forget. If you go to the main square you climb calmly and avoid the stairs. Lower them very well. Unbeatable

  • Visit Segovia and its aqueduct that was built by the Romans to take the water to the city of Segovia. It was built in the early 2nd century A.D., roughly at the end of the reign of Emperor Trajan or early Hadrian'. Impressive architectural work that endures in the time very well preserved. You have to see it And once there let you feel the passage of history about you

  • This place opened my eyes and heart to the past like ripping away a veil so I could see clearly. It set me on my life’s path (avocation) of being in love with the classical world. So astonishing-and still works-and still beautiful. Loved Spain and my four years there. Loved Segovia and a lifetime wouldn’t be enough-go! Go now!
  • One of the most beautiful landmarks in all of Spain the Segovia Aqueduct is a UNESCO World Heritage site and rightfully so. This amazing roman aqueduct was completed sometime in 98 AD and carried water from the River Acebeda to the city. You can walk along the aqueduct, and NO, not in it but along it on the ground.
