Puente de Isabel II (Puente de Triana), Seville

4.3
Stop for a photo op on Puente de Isabel II (Puente de Triana), an elegant bridge connecting the city center with the Triana district across the Guadalquivir River. Although a rustic pontoon bridge originally spanned the river here, the structure was rebuilt during the reign of Isabel II in the 19th century. As you cross the bridge, spot the Golden Tower and the la Maestranza bull-fighting stadium from here. Cafes and sites that offer nightlife cluster around the bridge on either side. Put Puente de Isabel II (Puente de Triana) on your schedule, and learn what else deserves a visit by using our Seville tour planning site.

  • Loved this bridge. When in Seville do take the boat ride in the river during late evening. It looks awesome in the dark .19 euros for 1 hr is not bad considering the views. Note : do take some jacket, it gets cold.
  • Behind the market, we found a hookah bar with a view of the river and ordered cocktails. The bartender meticulously hand crafted an excellent Cosmopolitan for my wife and we lounged while people watching, enjoying the soft cool breeze off the river. We then took a night stroll along the river bank on a paved path toward Puente de Isabell II. The light cast from the bridge and reflected on the water inspired a romantic ambiance and proved to be a beautiful backdrop for photos. Tip: manually turn on your flash to illuminate people in the foreground. It won't washout the bridge and river lights in the background. There are many opportunities to take stairs or ramps up to the street when you're ready to catch a taxi home.
