Hannays Beach, Georgetown

#4 of 7 in Outdoors in St Helena, Ascension and Tristan da Cunha
Vibrant blue waves crash onto dark rock formations at Hannays Beach. See a natural blowhole--a vertical sea cave formation--that stretches landward, resulting in a blast of water into the air when water engulfs the rocks. Visitors here can experience the wonders of physics while building a sand castle or sunbathing. You can dive into the water to see baby sharks, but be careful as the reef is a natural hunting ground for other animals, as well. Put Hannays Beach and other Ascension Island attractions into our Ascension Island road trip site, and watch your holiday take shape.
