A residence of English governors during colonial times. Then - a residence of the Presidents of the Sudanese Republic. The building represents the English colonial style, and is included in the list of the Sudanese Heritage - candidates to be listed as World Heritage. Is not open for public currently. The previous building was completely destroyed during the Mahdi's rebellion, after rebels killed here Gen. Charles Gordon (Gordon Pasha), and re-built after taking back Sudan under English-Egyptian rule in the very end of the XXX century.
