On the 14th (Thu), don't miss a visit to Halaszbastya, tour the pleasant surroundings at Priest's Island (Pap-sziget), and then contemplate the long history of Shoes on the Danube. Zagreb boasts a combination of Austro-Hungarian and Socialist architecture, but it is beloved for its outdoor cafe culture.
On the 16th (Sat), enjoy the sand and surf at Recreational Sports Center Jarun and then take your sightseeing to a higher altitude at Medvednica. On the 17th (Sun), you'll have a packed day of sightseeing: get engrossed in the history at Archaeological Museum and Andautonia Archaeological Park, examine the collection at Museum of Broken Relationships, then wander the streets of Upper Town (Gornji Grad), and finally examine the collection at Zagreb City Museum.

Drive from Budapest to Zagreb in 3.5 hours. Alternatively, you can take a bus; or fly. In May in Zagreb, expect temperatures between 69°F during the day and 50°F at night. On the 18th (Mon), you'll have the morning to explore before heading off to Sarajevo.
