On the 9th (Mon), contemplate the long history of Plaza de Armas and then delve into the distant past at Sacsayhuaman. On the 10th (Tue), you'll have a packed day of sightseeing: examine the collection at Pre-Columbian Art Museum, then stroll through Lares Trek, and then contemplate in the serene atmosphere at Catedral del Cuzco o Catedral Basilica de la Virgen de la Asuncion.

Traveling by train from Machu Picchu to Cusco takes 3.5 hours. Alternatively, you can drive. In July, daily temperatures in Cusco can reach 24°C, while at night they dip to 1°C. Finish your sightseeing early on the 11th (Wed) so you can travel to Santiago.
