Take a break from Cusco with a short trip to Pisac in Pisac, about 52 minutes away. The adventure continues: explore the ancient world of Sacsayhuaman, hike along exploor, admire the striking features of Centro Historico De Cusco, and steep yourself in history at Sacred Valley of the Incas.

Edmonton, Canada to Cusco is an approximately 16.5-hour flight. You can also do a combination of bus and flight. Traveling from Edmonton to Cusco, you'll lose 2 hours due to the time zone difference. When traveling from Edmonton in July, plan for a bit cooler days and colder nights in Cusco: temperatures range from 24°C by day to 1°C at night. Wrap up your sightseeing on the 21st (Sun) to allow time to travel to Machu Picchu.

Maras is a town in the Sacred Valley of the Incas, 40 kilometers north of Cuzco, in the Cuzco Region of Peru. Kick off your visit on the 24th (Wed): contemplate the long history of Moray, then take in the dramatic natural features at Salinas de Maras, then examine the collection at Yucay Museo de Cultura Viva, and finally trek along Urubamba Weavers' Route.

Traveling by combination of train and taxi from Machu Picchu to Maras takes 2 hours. Alternatively, you can drive. In July in Maras, expect temperatures between 24°C during the day and 1°C at night. Cap off your sightseeing on the 24th (Wed) early enough to travel to Puno.

Hugging the western tip of Lake Titicaca, Puno serves as a melting pot of indigenous and imported cultures, and makes a great base for explorations around the region.
On the 25th (Thu), head off the coast to Uros Floating Islands and then step off the mainland to explore Taquile Island. On the next day, contemplate the waterfront views at Lake Titicaca, then stroll the grounds of Sillustani, and then don't miss a visit to Chullpas.

Getting from Maras to Puno by combination of flight and bus takes about 4 hours. Other options: drive; or take a bus. In July, Puno is a bit cooler than Maras - with highs of 20°C and lows of -5°C. Cap off your sightseeing on the 26th (Fri) early enough to go by car to Arequipa.
