The constitutional capital of Bolivia, Sucre has a well-preserved historic center, with many buildings dating back to the city's founding in the 16th century.
On the 7th (Tue), head outdoors with Outdoor Activities, make a trip to Universidad de San Francisco Xavier de Chuquisaca, and then take in the dramatic scenery at The 7 Cascadas. Get ready for a full day of sightseeing on the 8th (Wed): take in the architecture and atmosphere at Basilica de San Francisco, examine the collection at Templo-Museo "San Francisco de Asis", get engrossed in the history at House of Liberty Museum - Casa de la Libertad, then take in the spiritual surroundings of Santa Clara Convent, then see the interesting displays at El Centro Turistico Comunitario, and finally contemplate in the serene atmosphere at La Recoleta.

Plan for little chillier temperatures traveling from Sucre in January, with highs in Potosi at 58°F and lows at 38°F. Emptiness surrounds the desert outpost of Uyuni, the gateway to the world's largest salt flats.
Get some cultural insight at Museo de la Llama y la Sal and Necropolis & Museum Kawsay Wasy. Step out of the city life by going to Nature & Wildlife Tours and Salar de Uyuni. There's still lots to do: get impressive views of Tunupa Volcano, head off the coast to Isla Incahuasi, and see the interesting displays at Train Cemetery.
