Nestled between rising hills in a narrow valley, Medellin serves as an energetic melting pot of people from all socio-economic classes.
Kick off your visit on the 14th (Sat): fly like a bird with a parasailing or paragliding tour, then stop by Duna Store, and then admire all the interesting features of 2000m Descent and more. On the next day, buy something for everyone on your list at El Tesoro Parque Comercial, then browse the different shops at Mayorca Mega Plaza, and then view the masterpieces at H by HDC.

Asuncion, Paraguay to Medellin is an approximately 10-hour flight. You can also drive. Due to the time zone difference, you'll gain 1 hour traveling from Asuncion to Medellin. While traveling from Asuncion, expect a bit cooler days and about the same nights in Medellin, ranging from highs of 32°C to lows of 21°C. Wrap up your sightseeing on the 15th (Sun) to allow time to travel to Salento.

Colombia's heart and soul, Bogota has earned the nickname "Athens of South America" thanks to its abundance of universities, libraries, and lower-level schools.
Step out of the city life by going to Monserrate and Laguna de Guatavita. Give yourself a bit of retail therapy at Galeria La Cometa and Pasaje Rivas. Change things up with a short trip to Catedral de Sal de Zipaquira in Zipaquira (about 54 minutes away). Next up on the itinerary: see the interesting displays at Gold Museum (Museo del Oro), admire the masterpieces at Museo Botero del Banco de la Republica, and stop by El Cuchitril Second Hand Shop.

Getting from Salento to Bogota by combination of bus and flight takes about 3.5 hours. Other options: do a combination of taxi and bus; or drive. In March, Bogota is little chillier than Salento - with highs of 23°C and lows of 10°C. Wrap up your sightseeing on the 19th (Thu) early enough to travel to Santa Marta.
