Capital of the Inca Empire for three centuries, World Heritage-listed Cusco is now a major tourist destination, drawing nearly 2 million annual tourists with its well-preserved colonial architecture and proximity to Machu Picchu.
Step out of Cusco to go to Pisac and see Pisac, which is approximately 1h 15 min away. And it doesn't end there: steep yourself in history at Sacsayhuaman, take an in-depth tour of Museo Inka, explore the world behind art at Museo de Arte Precolombino, and admire the striking features of Centro Historico De Cusco.

Toronto, Canada to Cusco is an approximately 15.5- hour flight. You can also do a combination of shuttle and flight; or do a combination of train, bus, and flight. Traveling from Toronto in September, Cusco is a bit cooler at night with lows of 5°C. Finish your sightseeing early on the 24th (Tue) to allow enough time to travel to Machu Picchu.

Traveling by combination of train and taxi from Machu Picchu to Maras takes 2.5 hours. Alternatively, you can drive. In September in Maras, expect temperatures between 25°C during the day and 5°C at night. On the 27th (Fri), wrap the sightseeing up by early afternoon so you can travel to Puno.

Kick off your visit on the 28th (Sat): take some stellar pictures from Mirador Ing. Eduardo Sanchez, step off the mainland to explore Taquile Island, and then explore the different monuments and memorials at Sillustani. Keep things going the next day: make a trip to Chullpas, then contemplate the waterfront views at Lake Titicaca, and then head off the coast to Uros Floating Islands.

You can do a combination of flight and bus from Maras to Puno in 4 hours. Other options are to take a bus; or drive. Traveling from Maras in September, expect Puno to be a bit cooler, temps between 22°C and 0°C. Finish up your sightseeing early on the 29th (Sun) so you can go by car to Arequipa.

Founded in 1535 by Spanish explorer Francisco Pizarro, Lima represents an interesting blend of modern attractions and preserved colonial architecture, much of it clustered in the World Heritage-listed city center.
Lima is known for museums, parks, and historic sites. Your plan includes some of its best attractions: ponder the design of Plaza de Armas (Plaza Mayor), get engrossed in the history at Museo Larco, take a leisurely stroll along Miraflores Boardwalk, and walk around Circuito Magico Del Agua.
