Founded in 1535 by Spanish explorer Francisco Pizarro, Lima represents an interesting blend of modern attractions and preserved colonial architecture, much of it clustered in the World Heritage-listed city center.
Start off your visit on the 25th (Thu): pause for some serene contemplation at Iglesia y Convento de San Francisco, then ponder the design of Plaza de Armas (Plaza Mayor), then stroll around Circuito Magico Del Agua, and finally take an in-depth tour of Museo Larco. On the 26th (Fri), you'll have a packed day of sightseeing: enjoy the sand and surf at Playa Kon-Tiki, contemplate the long history of Huaca Pucllana, wander the streets of Miraflores, then get a taste of the local shopping with Shopping Center Larcomar (Centro Comercial Larcomar), and finally view the masterpieces at Galeria Indigo.

When traveling from San Francisco in July, plan for a bit cooler days and about the same nights in Lima: temperatures range from 66°F by day to 61°F at night. Cap off your sightseeing on the 26th (Fri) early enough to travel to Arequipa.
