Although it lacks the cultural flair of Rio de Janeiro and the massive urban sprawl of Sao Paulo, Brasilia holds a fascinating place in the tapestry of Brazil.
On the 13th (Fri), take in the spiritual surroundings of Santuario Dom Bosco, take in the views from JK Bridge, take in the waterfront at Pontao do Lago Sul, then ponder the world of politics at Itamaraty Palace, and finally admire the landmark architecture of Catedral Metropolitana. Here are some ideas for day two: appreciate the history behind Memorial JK, stroll through Parque da Cidade (Sarah Kubitschek), and then make a trip to Torre de Televisao.

Kick off your visit on the 15th (Sun): don't miss a visit to Recoleta Cemetery, then explore the world behind art at Museum of Latin American Art of Buenos Aires, then admire the natural beauty at Parque 3 de Febrero, and finally admire the natural beauty at Japanese Garden. Step out of Santiago to go to Pirque and see Concha y Toro vineyard, which is approximately 42 minutes away. There's still lots to do: stroll through Cerro San Cristobal, admire the striking features of Metropolitan Cathedral (Catedral Metropolitana), don't miss a visit to Patio Bellavista, and contemplate the long history of Centro Cultural Palacio de la Moneda y Plaza de la Ciudadania.

Fly from Buenos Aires to Santiago in 6 hours. Alternatively, you can drive; or take a bus. The time zone changes from Argentine Time to Chile Time, which is usually a -1 hour difference. Traveling from Buenos Aires in October, plan for slightly colder nights in Santiago, with lows around 9°C. Finish your sightseeing early on the 21st (Sat) to allow enough time to travel to Cusco.

Get out of town with these interesting Cusco side-trips: Pisac (Pisac Market & Pisac). The adventure continues: delve into the distant past at Sacsayhuaman, stop by Hilo, pause for some serene contemplation at The Company of Jesus Church, and steep yourself in history at Plaza de Armas.
