Change things up with these side-trips from Rome: Museo Nazionale Tarquiniense (in Tarquinia), Chiesa di San Famiano (in Gallese) and Pozzo di San Patrizio (in Orvieto). Sao Paulo, Brazil to Rome is an approximately 15-hour flight. You can also do a combination of flight and train. Due to the time zone difference, you'll lose 4 hours traveling from Sao Paulo to Rome. In August, Rome is a bit warmer than Sao Paulo - with highs of 38°C and lows of 24°C. Wrap up your sightseeing on the 6th (Fri) early enough to travel to Vienna.

Get a sense of the local culture at Wachau Valley and Weingut Kolkmann. Appreciate the collections at The Third Man Museum and Kunst Haus Wien - Museum Hundertwasser. Explore Vienna's surroundings by going to Durnstein (Burgruine Duernstein & Domane Wachau), Esterhazy Winery (in Trausdorf an der Wulka) and Vinatrium Cellars (in Deutschkreutz). Fly from Rome to Vienna in 5 hours. Alternatively, you can drive; or take a train. Traveling from Rome in September, expect Vienna to be little chillier, temps between 24°C and 13°C. Finish up your sightseeing early on the 12th (Thu) so you can travel to Paris.
