Get some cultural insight at Castelo de Tomar and Cathedral of Evora (Se Catedral de Evora). Eschew the tourist crowds and head to Centro Historico de Evora and Capela dos Ossos. Get out of town with these interesting Lisbon side-trips: Monastery of Alcobaca (in Alcobaca), Aldeia da Terra (in Arraiolos) and Castelo dos Mouros (in Sintra). There's lots more to do: wander the streets of Belém Tower, step into the grandiose world of Castelo de S. Jorge, see the interesting displays at National Coach Museum, and take in the spiritual surroundings of Batalha Monastery.
