Founded in 1535 by Spanish explorer Francisco Pizarro, Lima represents an interesting blend of modern attractions and preserved colonial architecture, much of it clustered in the World Heritage-listed city center.
Kick off your visit on the 5th (Thu): wander the streets of Callao, examine the collection at Museo del Automovil Coleccion Nicolini, visit a coastal fixture at Faro La Marina, then see the interesting displays at Museo de Minerales Andres del Castillo, and finally contemplate in the serene atmosphere at Iglesia de las Nazarenas.

Amsterdam, Holland to Lima is an approximately 13-hour flight. You can also do a combination of train and flight. The time zone changes from Central European Time to Peru Time, which is usually a -6 hour difference. Traveling from Amsterdam in September, expect a bit warmer with lows of 18°C in Lima. Capital of the Inca Empire for three centuries, World Heritage-listed Cusco is now a major tourist destination, drawing nearly 2 million annual tourists with its well-preserved colonial architecture and proximity to Machu Picchu.
On the 6th (Fri), take in the spiritual surroundings of Qorikancha and then explore the ancient world of Tipon.
