A city of technology and industry, Turin is in northwestern Italy, a one-hour drive from the French border and slightly more than that from the Mediterranean Sea.
Go for a jaunt from Turin to Alba to see Langhe landscapes UNESCO about 1h 10 min away. There's still lots to do: get great views at Basilica of Superga, walk around Parco del Valentino, steep yourself in history at Duomo di Torino e Cappella della Sacra Sindone, and make a trip to Piazza Castello.

Varenna is a comune (municipality) on Lake Como in the Province of Lecco in the Italian region Lombardy, located about 60km north of Milan and about 20km northwest of Lecco.Varenna was founded by local fishermen in 769, and was later allied of the commune of Milan. Change things up with these side-trips from Varenna: I Giardini di Villa Melzi (in Bellagio) and Tremezzina (Villa del Balbianello & Villa Carlotta).
