Buckingham Palace, London

4.2
Buckingham Palace serves as a splendid reminder of the monarch's continued importance in British culture. If you visit during August or September, you'll have the opportunity to tour the palace's opulent staterooms. The queen receives and entertains guests and conducts special ceremonies in these spaces. Many of the furnishings date back to the 1830s, when King George IV transformed Buckingham House into a palace. On your tour, you'll learn how the monarch uses each of the 19 staterooms, hear colorful history relating to these spaces, and see numerous works in the British royals' art collection. Make sure you wear comfortable shoes, because the tour lasts from 2-2.5 hours and stretches out over 0.8 km (0.5 miles). Photography is not permitted inside. If you visit outside of August and September, you can still watch the changing of the guard outside the palace. Take a look at our London trip itinerary planner to schedule your visit to Buckingham Palace and learn about what else to see and do during your holiday.

  • To see the panoramic view of Lake Shinjiko visited early in the morning. The first time I've been unlike Korea, the police are impressed by letting all aboard.

  • Have you truly visited London without having visited Buckingham palace? Not only is it a sight to behold the surrounding parks and area is beautiful, if you have the time to spare, spending a day relaxing around here is highly recommended. St James Park is beautiful. Take a walk along the lake, watch the squirrels scurry about, have an ice cream, watch the ducks fly up and down the river. Once you're done with this, walk across to Green Park, Mayfair for dinner. All right in the centre of London, what more could you ask for??
  • Very impressive building, both on the inside as well on the inside. And as you might expect from a palace, a lot of gold, marble and shiny objects inside. So you won't be disappointed. The picture gallery has some fine art on display and the room next to it gives some insights into the personal taste of the royal family. And to finish it off, you can enjoy some high tea in the garden at the end of the tour.
