  • Worth a trip with the kids and free entry if you are a National Trust member.
  • Interesting historical site with the unique Black Knight rocket engine test bed. New battery consists of WW2 former gun emplacements. Not much of the original battery remains but enough to see what once was. Old battery was used and has features dating from Victorian times to WW2. Very interesting site. Unfortunately all rooms and underground features are closed because of COVID but the usual £7 non NT members price is reduced to £5. Pricey for the size of the place but you are donating to its preservation for future generations. Unique and excellent views of the needles and can pretty much get a 360 of the Isle of Wight from up top. Has a vehicle track but is walking only.
