Gawhar Shad Madrasa and Mausoleum serves as the resting place of one of the most notable queen's in Afghanistan's history, who ruled the area in the 15th century. Her tomb lies in a single building--with a dome on top--made of clay and blue tiles. Walk behind the mausoleum to see the five minarets that still stand, which were once a part of the queen's madrasa, a type of Islamic school. And this is must visit place in beautiful Herat. Walls on madrasah are very similar to Samarkand and Bukhara. Recommend with all my heart

Nice garden. The first Wednesday of year this garden is used by women and entering men is forbidden. Also a few minarets beside it are great and worth seeing.
