Important as a historical and architectural landmark, Igreja da Nossa Senhora do Populo dates back to the 17th century, when Benguela was still an important slave port on the Angolan coast. Built in the Baroque style, the church features two imposing towers facing the sea, a green front door, and windows with white details. Step inside to see the church's wooden pulpit, reportedly the only one in Angola built in the Rococo style. Its one of the oldest in Angola, its beautiful but the architecture is quite common, its still a play to see in the city.
