The site has stark reminders about the high cost of war. It is in a beautiful location above the St. Lawrence river. Expect to spend an hour inside (fee required). You can walk the perimeter free and is is worthwhile. There is an elevated boardwalk that begins at the Chateaux Frontenac and ends at Le Citadelle. This direction required climbing 350 stairs but has fabulous views of the river.

This was a great experience. Our tour guide was fantastic and happy to answer any questions we had. You must come here if you come to the fort! Or anywhere near it for that matter.
